NexCore Group-developed Cancer Center opens in Amarillo, TX

NexCore Group, a national healthcare, life sciences, and senior living real estate developer, announced they celebrated the grand opening of the new Texas Oncology-Amarillo, a comprehensive cancer center serving the residents in the panhandle of Texas.  In collaboration with Texas Oncology, the NexCore team led the single-story, 50,000-square-foot build-to-suit cancer center from concept to construction.

The new Texas Oncology-Amarillo cancer center significantly increases access to care to meet the growing need in the Texas panhandle. Located at 1826 Point West Parkway in Amarillo, the facility will provide medical oncology, hematology, gynecologic oncology, radiation oncology, breast radiology, surgical oncology, and colon and rectal surgical services. Thoughtfully designed to meet Texas Oncology’s space requirements, NexCore worked with architect, Perkins & Will, and general contractor, Skiles Group, to deliver the building housing a comprehensive array of healthcare services.

The center started seeing patients on April 17th, 2023.

NexCore Group Breaks Ground on the Hunt Regional Healthcare Specialty Hospital and Medical Office Building in Royse City, Texas

Today, NexCore Group, a national healthcare, life sciences, and seniors housing real estate developer, announced they broke ground on the new Hunt Regional Healthcare Medical Office Building (MOB) in Royse City, Texas. With an opening date anticipated in the Fall of 2024, the facility will bring a full spectrum of physician care to the Royse City community.

The Hunt Regional Healthcare MOB will house a state-of-the-art emergency facility that offers a full spectrum of physician care, including five in-patient beds, 10-bay emergency specialty hospital, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, primary care, and various specialty practices, such as Women’s Care and Orthopedics. NexCore Group is partnering with Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors and architect Page Southerland Page to develop the two-story 70,000 SF facility, which will be located off I-30 and Shaw Road, east of FM 2642.

HATCHlabs Named A 2023 NAIOP SoCal Awards Finalist for Interior Project of the Year

HATCHlabs @ Irvine Spectrum, a joint development project between HATCHspaces, NexCore Science and Technology, BAM Creative, and HITT Contractors, was selected as a finalist for the 2023 NAIOP SoCal Awards under the “Interior Project of the Year” category.  This annual award recognizes leaders in Southern California’s Commercial Real Estate Development industry and celebrates the previous year’s most innovative and transformative commercial real estate projects.

Completed in September 2022, HATCHlabs @ Irvine Spectrum was the first post-incubation life science facility in Orange County. The purpose-built facility resulted from a collaborative partnership between NexCore Science and Technology and HATCHspaces, who partnered with BAM Creative and general contractor HITT to overhaul over 39,000 square feet of space. The result of the project was a state-of-the-art, collaborative, purpose-built space developed to accommodate the specialized technical needs of early-phase life science companies.

“It took immense strategic collaboration and a strong, innovative vision to bring a project like this to life,” said Allan Glass, Founder of HATCHspaces. “It’s historically been quite difficult for emerging life science companies to find high-quality laboratory spaces that enable them to blend creativity with technical functionality. By combining collaborative spaces and state-of-the-art facilities, the HATCHlabs concept gives these companies exactly what they need to advance their innovations.”

The two-story project created eight turnkey lab suites available for immediate use and expansive state-of-the-art lab-enabled shell space on the first floor. The developers and contractors installed several highly-specialized infrastructure upgrades, including heavy power upgrades; multi-tenant distributed power, water, and sewer access; high-capacity air handling systems; shared lab amenities; back-up power; and fully-fit lab casework. The development also included outdoor community spaces, conference rooms, shower rooms, mother’s rooms, and shared breakrooms.

“We are thrilled that HATCHlabs has been recognized as a finalist for the NAIOP Southern California Chapter’s 2023 Awards,” shared Allan. “Working with NexCore, BAM Creative, and HITT was a phenomenal experience, and we could not have delivered such a dynamic facility without them. The winner of this highly-competitive award will be announced at The NAIOP Southern California Chapter’s 2023 Awards ceremony, which will take place on May 11, 2023, at Vibiana — Downtown Los Angeles.

NexCore Group Names Michael Ray Chief Investment Officer

Denver-based NexCore Group, a national healthcare, science and technology, and senior housing developer, announced that Michael Ray joined the firm as Chief Investment Officer.

Michael Ray is a senior real estate investment executive with over 20 years of experience developing investment strategies for companies of all stages and sizes. With a strong focus on joint ventures and capital formation, Michael has extensive expertise in managing high-value assets and positioning companies for optimal growth. “I am especially excited to join the NexCore Group team because of the company’s creative and collaborative environment,” shared Ray. ” I look forward to being a member of a dynamic team driving strategic growth and investment that impacts everyone involved.”

Ray comes to NexCore from McWhinney, where he served initially as Executive Vice President and General Counsel and then Chief Operating Officer, Funds Management. He directed legal functions and capitalization strategies for more than $900 million in investment pipelines during his tenure there. He also managed the creation and establishment of the company’s investment fund business and institutional investment platform.

NexCore Group Named 2023 Top Outpatient Healthcare Real Estate Developer

NexCore Group has been named a 2023 Top Outpatient Healthcare Real Estate Developer by Revista’s Outpatient Healthcare Real Estate Development survey. From January to December 2022, NexCore started or completed 10 developer-owned outpatient office buildings comprising 723,830 square feet. The total construction value for these projects totals $324.7 million.

The 2023 Outpatient Healthcare Real Estate Development Survey captured the number of medical office spaces and other outpatient real estate projects that either started or completed construction in 2022. These projects included MOBs, outpatient surgery centers, dialysis centers, clinics, freestanding emergency rooms/departments, imaging centers, urgent care centers, retail medical buildings, and other purpose-built facilities that delivered out-patient care.

This year’s report contained voluntary data from 20 companies, along with derived data from an additional 180 companies, resulting in 200 total developers being included in the survey. Of the 200 developers who participated, NexCore Group ranked first for the number of developer-owned projects started or completed in 2022.

Today, NexCore Group, a national healthcare, life sciences, and seniors housing real estate developer, broke ground on the new, state-of-the-art Westfield Medical Office Building and Westfield Ambulatory Surgery Center in Westfield, IN. Upon its completion in 2024, the integrated healthcare facility will offer convenient and comprehensive medical services to the rapidly growing Westfield community.

NexCore Group Breaks Ground on Intermountain Health Aurora Crossroads Campus Medical Office Building

Denver-based NexCore Group, a nationally recognized healthcare real estate investment and development company, broke ground on a new medical office building for Intermountain Health (formerly SCL Health) on their Aurora Crossroads campus March 21, 2023. The three-story, 85,000-square-foot facility is conveniently located at the intersection of E-470 and I-70 in north Aurora and is projected to open in the second quarter of 2024.
