Mike Conn

 Principal

Mike Conn is a Principal at NexCore, a full-service, fully-integrated owner, operator, and investor of healthcare real estate focused on medical outpatient development, acquisitions, senior living, and academic life science properties in the United States.

With more than 25 years of experience in real estate development and investment management, Mr. Conn is responsible for all aspects of development, including site acquisition, entitlements, joint ventures, deal structuring, and execution.   He oversees the sourcing and procurement of new projects, as well as overall performance of the assets.

Prior to joining NexCore, Mr. Conn was CEO at Meridian, a nationally recognized owner, investor, and developer of healthcare properties.  Prior to that, he worked in commercial brokerage at CBRE, where he specialized in the sales and leasing of industrial and flex/office product. He has also worked as a developer with Catellus and ProLogis, and as a general contractor with Turner Construction Company.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Conn has developed or acquired over five million square feet of projects with a value of $2 Billion.  The projects range from major value-add repositioning in dense urban infill markets to ground-up master planned centers with parking structure development. Projects include complicated parcel assemblages, complex entitlements and environmental remediation. Some notable ambulatory healthcare and bio-life science facilities include radiation/medical oncology, dialysis, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, cGMP clean room, R&D Lab, primary and specialty medical and dental.  His clients include major healthcare providers such as Sutter Health, Stanford Healthcare, CommonSpirit Health, John Muir Health, UCSF Health, HCA, DaVita, Satellite Healthcare, Northwest Medical Center, Community Hospital Systems, Tenet Health, El Rio Health, Lifepoint Health, Tucson Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Providence Health, Banner Health, Cedars Sinai, Quorum Health, McKesson U.S. Oncology, Centers for Elders Independence, AltaMed, Amgen, and Baxter.

Mr. Conn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker, a General Contractor (California and Arizona), and LEED Accredited Professional. He is an avid fitness competitor, handy-man, coach, and blood donor with the American Red Cross.
